I have totally been slacking on my blog postings, so I apologize! I have been so busy and I am lovin it! The weather is finally nice, by back is finally better, and now I have all these new friends to attend to.
This weekend was so cool! There was a YSA conference in Kirtland all weekend. It was a Polynesian theme with John Groberg as the keynote speaker (from The Other Side of Heaven). Friday was kind of a meet and greet day. We learned a Tongan war dance called the Hakka, and they roasted a pig on a spit. I passed on eating the pig, not because I don't like pork (because I DO) but because I saw it's face, and felt bad for it (I'm such a city chick). yuck! So, then on Saturday, we had some really interesting workshops and a service project. The best workshop was on Kirtland history which was given by a long time Kirtland resident and well known Historian. And for my service project, I took what I thought was the easy way out and gave blood. (P.S. it wasn't the easy way out...ouch!) Saturday night was really fun because we had a dance. I haven't been to a dance since about the 11th grade. I had so much fun and actually got asked to slow dance by a couple of cute guys! But by far, the best part of the weekend was Sundays Sacrament and Testimony meeting which was held at the Kirtland Temple. There was a nostalgic feeling being there! The benches were totally uncomfortable, but it was so awesome!
So, that was my weekend!!!
Tomorrow, I am taking the Missionaries hiking (both sister and elder). I'm quite sure it will not even come close to hiking in Utah, but It is by far the best hike around here. So wish us all a safe hike!!!
Have fun on your hike! I'm glad you are living an exciting life! It's the only kind to live! I'm gonna try and make it to Grantsville while you are here, my work schedule is a little crazy right now. Anyway, just wanted to say hi!
